Today we decided that we were going to make a home brew. Earlier we went to the Brew Nut to purchase a coper cooling coil. We got everything home and all set out, we were like "now what?" A little book called how to brew saved us. And Taylor I was thinking of you the whole time ;)

Russell reading the book and given the next steps. We had to sanitize all the pots, spoons, thermometer and bucket before we started.

Us getting excited to start our project.

Russell pouring the malt wheat into boiling water. Do you think that he thinks the water is hot? I love the face!

Me adding the hops to our brew. It smelled soooo good.

After the water, hops, and malt boiled for an hour this is what it looked like. Not to appetizing.
We hooked the outside hose up to the cooling coil. The water going into the coil =cold and the water exiting into the sink=hot. It cooled the brew down from boiling to 60 degrees in 3 minutes. wow!

The cooling coil in action. And Russell checking the temperature.

Russell pouring the brew into the fermentation bucket. You have to pour quick so that air gets added and the brew ferments better. Once the brew is in the bucket we added a stopper and now we wait....for two weeks. I will give you an update then and we will see how it tastes. Hopefully GREAT!
