My dad decided that he was going to try cyclocross racing. We went and watched him race his second race on Saturday morning. It was crazy! They rode in the mud, weeds, and dirt. Then there were several places that they had to get off the bike and jog over obstacles. It was neat to watch! Dad is in the 55 years old and up class and he said that his heart rate was as high as he has had it in years! The race is about 4 labs and 40 minutes and you are pushing yourself to the limit the entire way.

Dad on the left side, just getting back onto his bike after getting off to jump over that log in the background. There were several people who tried to bunny hop the log and ended up endoing. It scared me. I am glad that the ground was wet from rain and they had helmets on!!! They all got up and kept riding, a good sign!
